About us
Good design and design for good
We are a small, friendly graphic design company: we don’t just do good design, we design for good! We work with charities, not-for-profit and voluntary organisations, local groups, individuals and ethically-minded companies. If it is a project that benefits people, animals or the environment we want to be involved!
We design all kinds of things including leaflets, badges, newsletters, display panels, posters – if it can be printed we can design it! We also design and build websites, from simple small-scale sites to fully content-managed e-commerce sites and web applications. View our services to see how we can help you.
We provide a friendly and informal service and try to develop long-term relationships with our clients.
Our ethics
Bananadesign was set-up by Holly Dyer and Dave McCourt in 1999. After having worked at the charity ActionAid for five years we decided to go it alone and work for ourselves. We wanted Bananadesign to be shaped by our ethics and beliefs and to make a positive difference through our work.
We are committed to running Bananadesign in an ethical way and we have set ourselves high standards; we are determined to stick to what we know is right. Many design agencies dont think there is a place for ethics in design; obviously we disagree, we think there is a place for ethics in every aspect of work and life.
’Ethical’ and ‘eco’ are the buzzwords of the moment and many organisations are trying to rebrand themselves in this way. We have had an ethical approach right from the start becuase it is how we live our lives and it seems natural to us to run our business in the same way. There is no greenwashing with us, what you see is what you get!
Read our ethical policy for more information on what makes Bananadesign special.
So why ‘Bananadesign’?
Why not! We thought it was fresh and positive and had a lot of scope for designing something fun. We often argue over who thought of the name but the truth is we can’t remember.
